What do you get when you mix pheromones extracted from a sexy beast, an engine that could power a mini volcano and the looks of your favourite pin-up girl? We’ll tell you what you would get…the 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante. And yes, it is topless. Unlike most other cars that try to get our attention just by taking their tops off, the Vanquish Volante’s got curves in all the right places, including the front and the rear.
Like its hard top twin, the Vanquish Volante also packs a 5.9-liter V12 engine with 565bhp, which thrusts this gorgeous machine from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.1 seconds and climaxes at a top speed of 294km/h. These levels of performance are achievable due to Aston Martin’s fourth generation VH bonded aluminium structure, which is 14 percent stiffer than the old DBS Volante. Every panel that clothes the Vanquish Volante’s tight body, is made from carbon fibre – a first for Aston Martin.
For those who might find themselves getting a tad too excited with the Vanquish Volante’s top down, don’t worry, you won’t have to stop just to get the top back up. The three-layer top can be put up or down at speeds of up to 48km/h, in about 14 seconds.
A ‘Touchtronic 2’ six-speed automatic gearbox, a new set of springs and dampers, a weight distribution of 51:49, and a set of carbon-ceramic brakes help to make this bombshell’s performance and drive comfort suitable for all driving conditions. Whether you bring it out for a quickie or for a long cross country drive, the Vanquish Volante will not disappoint.
