We’ve always been big fans of Reed Krakoff’s utilitarian aesthetic – and the label’s lustworthy Boxer totes – so we were intrigued to see how the brand’s design philosophy would translate into Ladurée’s lush macarons. We’re pleased to report that the two make for an awfully chic pairing.
While it might be a tad too late to get a box for your sweetheart this Valentine’s, the designer collaboration – available throughout the ongoing New York Fashion Week for editors and the fashion posse to nibble on between shows – will most definitely make for a sophisticated treat if you happen to be in the Big Apple this week. (For the record, the store’s located at 864 Madison Avenue.)
Unlike Ladurée’s usual pretty pastel-hued confections, these are seriously severe in the most stylish way possible. Everything is in black: from the meringue shell to the buttercream filling to the packaging itself – making these posh pastries look like coffeetable objects best displayed and not eaten.
